What is APEL ?

Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) is the verification process of an individuals achievement for a set of previous learning outcomes obtained through formal, informal and non-formal learning irrespective of time and place. We at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) offer APEL. A for the purpose of admission to any programmes offered by the Higher Education Provider (HEPs). APEL. A was introduced for the purpose of providing opportunities and access to individuals with work experience but lacking qualifications or lack of academic qualifications to continue their studies at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and others Higher Education Provider (HEPs).

Entry Requirements

APEL T-6:
The basic requirements for every level of admission to the Programme at the Bachelor Degree Level are as follows:

i. Malaysian citizen;
ii. aged 21 years at the time of application; and
iii. have relevant work experience.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the conditions (i) and (ii) are fulfilled by looking at the MyKad and keeping a copy of the applicant MyKad.

APEL T-7:
The basic conditions that need to be met before the APEL T-7 assessment is implemented are as follows:

i. Malaysian citizen;
ii. aged 30 years at the time of application;
iii. have at least STPM/diploma/equivalent; and
iv. have relevant work experience.

The i-iii requirement must be fulfilled by the applicant before any APEL T-7 evaluation process is commenced. Proof documents are required for verification purposes and record of proof such as certified true copy of MyKad and a copy.
